59 Free Years: Happy Birthday, India!

Vibes of a nation. త్రివర్ణ పతాకం.

A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long supressed, finds utterance. – Jawaharlal Nehru

(Incidentally, not many know that Nehru gave that stirring speech completely ex-tempore; legend has it that, while he was preparing his real speech, he received news, photographs perhaps, of bloodshed in Lahore. So stunned was he, that the next words he uttered were these.)
